The 2024 Mazda CX-50 is a compact crossover designed for the adventure-seeking lifestyle, offering seating for five passengers. It shares a platform with the Mazda CX-30 and is produced alongside the Toyota Corolla Cross in Alabama. The CX-50 comes with a choice of a base 2.5-liter inline-4 engine with 187 horsepower or a more powerful 2.5-liter turbo-4 engine generating 227 horsepower. Both engines are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive is standard. The suspension system utilizes a front strut and rear torsion beam setup, providing a responsive and engaging driving experience on paved roads.

Interior and Safety:
Inside the CX-50, front passengers enjoy well-bolstered seats, while rear passengers benefit from decent legroom. The crossover’s design offers practical storage space and a maximum cargo capacity that slightly trails the CX-5. Standard safety features include active lane control, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitors. The 2023 model received a Top Safety Pick rating from the IIHS.

Pricing and Trims:
For the 2024 model year, Mazda has discontinued the S base model and streamlined the trim lineup to eight options. The pricing starts at $31,675 for the 2.5 S Select, including destination fees, and all trims come with standard all-wheel drive. The 2.5 S Premium model, priced at $36,000, offers desirable features like a panoramic sunroof, synthetic leather seats, a wireless smartphone charger, heated front seats, a power driver seat, a power tailgate, and a 10-speaker Bose audio system. The 2.5 Turbo model ranges from $39,375 to just under $45,000 for the Turbo Premium Plus.
